More Site Swappage

While not 100% of this article regards Thomas Productions, enough of it does to talk about it here. The Checkoff List, which is linked to from this very index, is being moved from the 2nd site (jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public) to the 3rd site (directorg.uuuq.com) because the 2nd is becoming more and more difficult to transfer files to without needing to force quit and/or restart the computer!!

Okay, now that my rant is over, I'm merely announcing that the Thomas Productions Checkoff List, which lists oft-updated plans about the goings on regarding our movies and web pages (and also includes additional YouTube postings that may or may not be for Thomas Productions), is now hosted at directorG.uuuq.com/temp/checkoff.html.

Generally speaking, the only true remaining part of the site at the 2nd site address is GPicturama. Due to site space needs, it must stay there for the time being.

3rd Site, Part I

As you may have noticed by now, if you're capable of reading this very text, our site has transferred both its Home Page and News Blog to a new site: directorG.uuuq.com. While the address is slightly longer, it was necessary for several reasons: 1) This News Blog takes up more space than you'd think -- at least 11 MB, 2) I needed a 3rd site that actually permitted FTPing files, which the 2nd site (jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public) simply wasn't capable of, 3) It was free, and 4) No Ads!

So, call it a celebration of sorts, as anything that's free (and means it) is a worthy cause. We'll see how well it works; it took nearly 2 weeks before it would let me register. Also, I'm having to put this main index page on there, too, so that I don't use an iFrame to insert the News Blog to another site's page (since it gets iFramed to the bottom of the main page regardless of where it's located...!).

The original links of directorG.com and directorG.com/news (for now, at least) will stay the same, and you'll get redirected to the new Zymic ones.

Overdue

This post regards three things that are overdue, in one way or another:
  1. Starting today, GPicturama is receiving a facelift. Unbeknownst to me until hours ago, links within the yearly archives had still not been updated since the 2nd site's domain had changed from directorG2.com to jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public.

Thus far, I've fixed things all the way back to 2005, and I'm working to fix the rest by tomorrow. I'm also extending the addition of the hovering image outline to pages I update. Check it out!

  2. I read a blog article today from The Film Experience that arranged a new Top Ten list of actors yet-to-receive-an-Oscar, rearranged now that Kate Winslet has [finally] earned one. You'll never guess who their #1 choice is! Read that article here.

  3. Speaking of overdue Oscar selections, I've been keeping such a list all along, but I don't arrange it like The Film Experience does. Instead, I call it a "Snubbed List," and continually add films by year that should have won for Best Whatevertheawardis, plus other actors that just deserve it. To see it, go here and click "Snubbed List" at the bottom.

Reconstruction

As was mentioned in the previous blog entry, now all of the "Thomas Productions" logo images atop each movie page link back to the main page. Even though there were other parts of the page that also did this, thinking in a moment of logic led to my conclusion of doing this.

More importantly, the process of redirecting any sort of images from the old 2nd site to the new one (directorG2.com to jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public) has vastly continued, with the best example at current being displayed at the page for The Nightmare. The entire segment for Production Pics, complete with a translucent layer of thumbnails to select from, has now been fixed. The process continues...

Milk It Out

Waitin' now for the Guilds to give a better set of nominations and awards, since the Golden Globes all but snubbed the film Milk, save for Sean Penn's acting. The same goes for Ledger and The Dark Knight. Quite surprised, however, for the quantity for Revolutionary Road, as well as for Eastwood's musical noms!

I mention all this here because it affects the status of my Oscar Noms Predictions. Throughout this site's reconstruction, that's one small part being reposted at a new link. It's indirectly found at jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public/z by clicking a link for "Oscar Predictions" at the bottom, or more directly at jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public/z/predix.

Redirected G

As this site gets rearranged a bit for the purposes of the new 2nd domain (jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public), now GPicturama gets redirected to its new first page from directorG.com/gpicturama to jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public/gpicturama2! The latter URL is a bit more to type, so they each will work, but a brief redirection will occur.

Speaking of things still under construction, there is a new page nearly finished for GPicturama! Remember that huge smoke cloud over California this past summer? Remember how a red sun resulted? Wanna see it again?

Reached 1000 Views!

It's an exciting time for Thomas Productions because this week on YouTube, The Dog of Pompeii surpassed the 1000 views mark! The next to possibly do that is Scenes from Being John Malkovich, but this was our first to do so. It may not seem huge, but considering how slowly some clips get shown, it is quite the milestone.
See more Jack Black videos at Funny or Die

Also, there's quite a bit of construction our site still needs, as URLs for files of our 2nd site are being changed from directorG2.com to the current cheaper jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public, which will have to do for now. However, as that gets done, you can view the most awesome short ever above: Prop 8: The Musical! It's debut was a few months late, but its all-star cast, topped with Jack Black as Jesus, is beyond hilarious.
