Eight is Great

Though Melissa Leo did not end up with the big goldie, the night d'Oscars still was consumed largely by Slumdog Millionaire, as predicted. I didn't quite think it would earn 8, the most of any pic since The Gourd of the Flings: Return of the Bling Bling, but I was more than satisfied. Yay for Sean Penn, too!

Overall, it was a relatively easy year of predictions -- my score was 17! However, I don't think anyone expected Japan's nominee for Foreign Film to win over Israel's Waltz with Bashir. WTF??

It Is Written

This past evening, Slumdog Millionaire and Milk won WGAs for Best Adapted and Original Screenplays, respectively. This continues to confirm Slumdog's destiny of reaching Best Pic status, and that Milk is bound to win at least 1 or 2 significant Oscars as well -- perhaps Sean Penn will get his 2nd? I simply must wait until my Oscar Party on the 22nd for the final results...

While it may not be fate, the new code for the redesigned movie web pages has certainly been written [by yours truly]. I decided that it might look better to put links regarding various available media at the side, rather than have the media occupy half of the page from the getgo. It all now appears in a media layer once the links are clicked...

So far, it's only been officially uploaded into the 2005 movies, Abrupt and The King Who Rained, as an experiment. More should be uploaded soon...

Milk It Out

Waitin' now for the Guilds to give a better set of nominations and awards, since the Golden Globes all but snubbed the film Milk, save for Sean Penn's acting. The same goes for Ledger and The Dark Knight. Quite surprised, however, for the quantity for Revolutionary Road, as well as for Eastwood's musical noms!

I mention all this here because it affects the status of my Oscar Noms Predictions. Throughout this site's reconstruction, that's one small part being reposted at a new link. It's indirectly found at jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public/z by clicking a link for "Oscar Predictions" at the bottom, or more directly at jimthzz.bingodisk.com/public/z/predix.

Bittersweet Symphony

What a historic night has passed! It is about time a worthy president can replace a dreaded one, and that he can be multiracial, African American among them, is an added bonus. That he can be accepting of EVERYONE is simply awesome.

Prop 8, however, is a disgusting reality we Californians are now faced with. For some reason, the majority of us still like to segregate ourselves, and bring us back to the past when equality was not on our minds. I am not in that majority, thankfully. I guess people really need to see Milk.

ANYWAYS, it's about time that another Thomas Productions flick has been posted at YouTube! Titled Shakespeare's Sonnet 12 / Parisian Hill, the first part is obvious, while the second part parodically includes the face of a rather famous teacher... Enjoy!
